Made it to Santa Fe via Amarillo and The Cadillac Ranch

Drove all day to get to Santa Fe and it was well worth the trip.  Stopped at the famous Cadillac ranch in Amarillo, TX on the way.  Very cool place.  An artist named Stanley Marsh decided to make an art exhibit using (10) 1949-1964 Cadillacs as a shrine to the now defunct Route 66.  He lined the cars up and buried them half way in the ground with fins pointing up.  Springsteen refers to the place when he sings, "Take me down to the Cadillac Ranch".  Apparently the current trend is to spray paint the cars when you visit. The downside to this however, is people are not taking
their empty spray cans with them and the field is strewn with cans.
Driving into Santa fe around sundown was spectacular!  There were points when we were the only ones on the road.  It was really breathe taking...
